A Message from The Fostering Network

The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading fostering charity and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of all the fostered children, young people and foster carers that you are supporting by taking part in this event, for giving so generously of your time and your donations and for supporting Deborah, Mark and the Ashdown Forest Sponsored Ride and Foster Walk 2017.

Every 20 minutes a child comes in to care in need of a loving and supportive fostering family and by taking part in this event you will make a real contribution to giving these children the chance to fulfil their potential.

The Fostering Network is committed to improving the lives of every child in foster care. We campaign to create change for foster carers and stand up to fostering. We promote fostering at every opportunity and offer support, advice, and information to these who already foster or may be considering starting to foster.

Around 7,600 new foster carers were recruited in 2016 alone in order to cope with the demand for foster families, with the greatest need being for new carers able to look after sibling groups, adolescents and children with disabilities.

For the Ride or Foster Walk, we encourage you to raise donations online so please follow the link to register with the Ashdown Forest Sponsored Ride and Foster Walk fundraising page at Virgin Money Giving. Or visit www.virginmoneygiving.com and search for The Fostering Network.

Good luck and thank you!

Philip Jacob – Head of Fundraising
